Lumber export on the increase

The export of lumber from Norway is on a steady increase, while we are importing more and more manufactured wood products, according to the newspaper Nationen.

This year Norwegian forest owners will export lumber worth NOK 423 million, while at the same time the import of finished wood products for private consumption will reach more than NOK 1.4 billion.

Head of the Parliamentary Industrial Committee, Terje Aasland (Labour), now calls for renewed support for the manufacture in Norway of finished wood products.
