Janex completes £500,000 schools contract

Norwegian firm Janex, set up in Scotland eight years ago, has completed a £500,000 contract supplying five of Falkirk Council's newly built schools with 1800 internal doors.

MD Alex Brown said: "Our client contractor Ballast Wiltshier Projects, who built the schools with private finance, chose us to supply the internal doors for all five schools because we are able to manufacture and deliver for large-scale projects like this. Our window and door products are being used by housing associations, councils, private builders and PFI contractors the length and breadth of Britain, because we can supply quickly and in large volumes, which can be difficult for other manufacturers."

Janex has also signed a major partnership agreement with John Mitchell Transport Ltd to transport doors and windows to projects across the UK from Scandinavia. Janex has expanded significantly over the past year. The firm more than doubled its turnover with the purchase of Swedoor UK last December, creating a new company based near Nottingham - Janex UK Ltd. The company invested in new premises at Baltic Quay, Grangemouth, in January, creating 10,000 sq ft of new office space and warehousing. Five new jobs were created earlier this year at Grangemouth, bringing the total number of staff in the whole company to 30 at offices in Grangemouth, Long Eaton and in Norway. Janex was originally founded as a supplier partnership to bring high-performance Scandinavian timber windows and doors to the Scottish market.
