ICA fully exonerated in the case against the Møre merchants

Borgarting Court of Appeal has rendered a judgment in the case in which 60 franchisees had filed a claim against ICA for an amount from MNOK 100 to MNOK 600. ICA was fully exonerated in respect of the claim, and the franchisees were ordered to pay ICA MNOK 3.5 in costs.

In 2010, the Oslo District Court ordered ICA to pay roughly MNOK 96 to 60 former franchisees in the ICA system. Most of the franchisees were from the Møre region, and they have subsequently switched to the Bunnpris chain. Organised as the Mørekjøpmennenes Interessefellesskap (the Møre Merchants' Community of Interest), they filed the action in 2008.
