Hydropower development contract in Sarawak, Borneo

Norconsult has now mobilised in Kuching on Borneo, Malaysia, to assist Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) in the development of their SCORE program (The Sarawak Corridor Of Renewable Energy).

In addition to Norconsult, SMEC and MWH have been selected for the Hydropower projects development. The SCORE program includes 20,000 MW potential Hydropower projects in addition to Thermal Power Plants and Transmission system.

Our first contract is an Initiation Phase Study for Pelagus Hydroelectric Project (410MW) and will, if feasible, go through the SEB decision gate model with Concept Phase (DG1), Pre-Engineering Phase (DG2) and Execution Phase (DG3) up to scheduled operation from 2018.
