Gulf Notified Body meeting in Manama Bahrain

At the end of January, the GSO (Gulf Standards Organization) arranged the first meeting with the present group of 23 Notified Bodies. These Notified Bodies are authorised by GSO to certify the electrical products as currently required by the new regional regulation (BD-142004-01 - Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances).

It was the first meeting of this group, which is named ‘GSO Notified Bodies Cooperation Group for electrical products (GNBCG-LV)’.

The objective is effective communication for ensuring that all the NBs have up-to-date information on the relevant developments, including guides, regulations and standards. It is also for sharing of experiences and get a common understanding of the requirements and procedures involved, as well as for raising problematic issues and give recommendations to the GSO on unclarified situations.

To facilitate the achievement of these objectives, the following three Working Groups were established:
Working Group 1: Clarification of GSO Requirements
Working Group 2: Harmonizing Conformity Assessment Procedures
Working Group 3: Improving the Tracking System
