Godt norsk' meat calms European nerves

International restaurant chains in Europe are considering switching to Norwegian meat to avoid any danger of serving food contaminated by mad cow disease.

In recent weeks representatives from two international chains have visited the meat processing facilities of Fatland Jæren and interest is expected to rise if outbreaks of mad cow disease on the continent continue. "The situation is worrisome in many European countries," said Fatland Jæren's manager, Terje Wester. "The chains are asking themselves how they should give their customers he greatest sense of security."
