ERA-NET in the area of brain-related diseases and disorders of the nervous system (ERA-NEURON)

The ERA-NET NEURON supports basic, clinical and translational research in the diverse fields of disease-related neuroscience. The mission of NEURON is based on the fact that disorders of the brain are the major cause for impaired quality of life, and they are a heavy burden not only for patients, their families and carers, but also a socioeconomic problem for society. The ERA-NET serves as a platform for funding agencies and ministries, to develop joint activities and programmes to coordinate high quality research across national borders. One of the core activities are annually launched joint transnational calls for proposals for research groups operating in the NEURON partner countries. With each new funding round, different areas of disease-related brain research are addressed.
