Colombian peace talks delegations delayed

The Colombian delegations to the peace talks in Norway have postponed their departure for Oslo, due to bad weather, according to the newspaper El Espectador.

Latest reports say both the delegation from the Colombian government and the delegation from the FARC guerillas will now arrive in Oslo Tuesday afternoon, in time for the formal negotiations to begin on Wednesday.

At the request of both parties, Norway has agreed to act as facilitator for peace talks between the Colombian Government and FARC-EP.

An earlier Foreign Ministry press release states that together with Cuba, Norway has helped to facilitate the secret talks that have taken place in Havana over the last six months.
