Auburn University Grant used to Test Breakthrough Norwegian Technology for Improved Fuel Efficiency

Through a grant from MEC-AS of Norway, Auburn University conducted an “Engine-Dynamometer Test” on a unique combustion engine technology. The test shows an 11.5%-20% increase in fuel efficiency. MEC AS’s unique and proprietary technology optimizes combustion processes and increases fuel efficiency as well as reduces carbon emissions. In addition, test results showed that MEC’s unique technology allows fuel to burn much more efficiently and effectively “cleaner,” thereby reducing particle emissions.

MEC AS officials were extremely pleased with the positive results from the United States. Bjorn Skjervold, MEC AS CEO, was not surprised. “We’ve got over 14,000 satisfied customers in Europe right now with our retro-fit kits,” said Skjervold, “In addition, AVL MTC Motortestcenter AB conducted a test in Europe in 2004 and produced similar results. The Auburn University test now validates the successful European data we already had.” In addition to the retro-fit kits, MEC officials believe that the biggest opportunity for increased fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions is with combustion engine manufacturers who can incorporate the MEC technology into their manufacturing processes.
