Aqua Nor: Impressed by Norwegian farming technology

True to tradition, Innovation Norway held their fourth annual boat trip to Hitra and Bjugn before the opening of this year’s Aqua Nor in Trondheim. 

The boat trip is a way of showcasing Norwegian aquaculture in its natural surroundings and thus gives credence to the statement that Norwegian industry has the world's leading technology.

The 150 guests on the boat included representatives from China, Korea, India and Canada, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, Cuba, Iceland, Thailand, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Scotland.

“Our international guests appreciate this opportunity and gain a great insight in the what the industry is doing in terms of sustainability and efficient solutions,” says Petter Ustad, Manager of Seafood at Innovation Norway.

“It is interesting to see the computerized feeding system used on Lerøy Midnor. We are particularly interested in technology related to seafood farming culture” says Leena Nair, Head of Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA), Trade - and Industry.

“Our wet trip on the boat today has been very interesting. The program was interesting and educational,” says Zheng Weizhong from Beijing Biotech. They are visiting Trondheim and Aqua Nor for the fourth time. Their delegation has increased substantially over the years, representing the growing interest in Norwegian industry.
