Mollier has been selected as a partner when SMOE Shipyard in Singapore to provide cooling systems for residential platform 2 / 4 L on Ekofisk.

New Offshore Contract

The yard, SMOE, is a wholly-owned shipyard of Semb Corp Marine in Singapore. AF's services will be included in SMOEs delivery for one of ConocoPhilips new installations (Ekofisk 2 / 4 L) on the Ekofisk field. The contract AF has signed with SMOE includes complete delivery and installation of refrigeration and freezer units, these are for cooling and freezing of food. The contract also includes electrical and instrument controls and services for these units. The contract was won against strong competition with several international suppliers with long experience and previous deliveries to SMOE. 

In cooperation with the customer, Mollier shall design solutions that are environmentally friendly and reliable with a focus on minimal use of HFC refrigerants. The emphasis will be on the operation and maintenance and this is to be carried out in a correct and proper manner. For us, this contract is an important part of our commitment to our engineering offshore and in recognition of our quality, expertise and capacity, says Morten Pettersen, Managing Director of Mollier.

Engineering will start immediately and deliveries will take place in 2012 and 2013. The contract with options has a value of 30MNOK

Facts about Ekofisk 2 / 4 L:
Ekofisk 2 / 4 L is not just a accomodation platform, but also a new field center for the Ekofisk area. The platform will be linked to the existing Ekofisk Center by a bridge. In addition to 552 cabins the platform will provide a number of field service functions such as helicopter deck and hangar. In addition support for 75 office jobs and a number of auxiliary systems such as supply of fire water and fresh water is also provided.
