New version of the Oil facts app

A new version of the Oil facts app for Windows Phone 8 is now available.

The app can be downloaded for free from Marketplace. Users who already have the app should also download the new version.

The app was developed for Windows Phone 7.5. When version 8 came, the update did not work with Windows’ new technology.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s and Ministry of Petroleum and Energy’s Oil Facts app is available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone smartphones.

The app is based on data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s fact pages and fact maps. You can access information on fields, production licences, companies, production and active exploration wells, as well as news. The map function shows fields and active exploration wells, all linked with relevant background information. Users can also access a built-in search function.

The app also contains an analysis feature where the user can filter and sort data. You can save these as your personal favourites, making it easy to update them later. You can generate graphs in the analysis feature.
