Forestry is bioeconomy

- Managing natural resources, particularly forests -  and particularly in Europe, will be important for the development of the economy, employment, energy security and the environment, said Sylvi Listhaug, The Norwegian minister of Agriculture and Food in her presentation at a seminar hosted by the European Forest Institute (EFI) at the European Parliament.  

EFI has conducted a study, co-sponsored by the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, on the European forestry sector - 'Future of the Forest Based Sector'. In her presentation, Minister Listhaug described the challenges facing the forestry sector in Norway, focusing on  the opportunities a developing bioeconomy affords the forestry industry.
