Delineation of the 6608/11-2 oil discovery in the Norwegian Sea

Statoil, operator of production licence 128, has completed drilling of appraisal well 6608/11-8. The well is dry.

The oil discovery 6608/11-2 ("Falk") was proven in 2000 in Lower Jurassic reservoir rocks (the Åre formation).

The appraisal well was drilled about 650 metres west of the 6608/11-2 discovery well. Prior to the drilling of well 6608/11-8, the oil discovery was defined as a minor discovery with relatively poor production properties.
