The Platform Manager is overall responsible for all activities onboard the vessel and shall ensure all personnel under his supervision carry out tasks in a safe and efficient manner, according to Dolphin and the various authorities standard.

Make sure that the ISPS system is fully implementet on the plattform.

Perform “Master’s Review” in order to review the Safety Management System and report it’s deficiencies to the Company’s shore based management.

To ensure all marine and related operations are executed within the parameters established by the Registration Authorites, local maritime regulations, operator and Dolphin’s policies and procedures.

Keep various journals, including the recording of data relating to the movements on the platform such as current, waves, winds, weather etc.

Arrange first aid, Man Over Board and fire drills, in accordance with the regulations. Ensuring that fire fighting equipment and lifesavings equipment are in condition that meets regulatory demands at all times. The Platform Manager is also responsible that the posted Station Bill properly defines the roles of all personnel in any emergency situation.

Ensure that the Certificates required according to current legislation are valid and that required survey and intermediate inspections are carried out at right intervals. Ensure that there is at least one complete set of construction drawings of the platform onboard.

Attending daily operation meetings with Drilling Section Leader (Toolpusher), Techincal Section Leader (Chief Engineer) and Stability Section Leader. Compile a morning report summary of previous 24 hours operations.

To perform annual “Appraisal interviews” with the personnel within his “department”.




Deck Officer class 1 / Education as Platform Manager and in compliance with flagstate regulations. Additional training according to Dolphin's training matrix.

Good knowledge of written and spoken English and Norwegian.
