Department Head: Wind Energy 


Sector Fluid Flow and Environmental Technology. 

The sector for Fluid Flow and Environmental Technology conduct groundbreaking and innovative research in areas such as process technology, wind energy, environmental technology, petroleum technology and corrosion. The sector consists of five departments; Flow Technology, Wind Energy, Corrosion Technology, Tracer Technology and Environmental Analysis. Our aim is to develop relevant products for the industry by combining basic chemistry, physics and process understanding with digital tools and state of the art instrumentation.


We are looking for a motivational and business oriented manager to lead our Department of Wind Energy. 

The Department of Wind Energy has a research team that conducts activities in three key areas: (i) development and use of simulation software for offshore wind turbines, (ii) analysis and development of offshore wind turbines and other large structures exposed to wind and/or sea (iii) wind farm and large scale simulations. Our goals are to deliver value adding contributions to the design and operation of wind turbines and other installations exposed to environmental loads. This work includes novel concept development, development of more realistic simulation tools reducing uncertainty and costs, design optimization and enabling engineers to utilize more powerful tools to reach their goals. The work has a strong focus on exploiting and developing digital tools and systems through iterative development and prototyping. Our project portfolio extends across a range of industries, including offshore wind energy production and floating bridges. 

The Department Head’s role involves developing and managing the department and creating an inspiring environment where the best minds can thrive. The Department Head reports to the Director of the sector and participates in the sector’s management team. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships throughout the organisation.


Job description


• Financial and personnel responsibility for the department.

• Develop necessary capacity and competence to meet customer needs. 
• Develop and execute strategic plans for the department. 
• Ensure visibility and market the department capabilities internally and externally.

• Contribute to the unified sector strategy. 
• Contribute to projects across our organisation.




• Education level: PhD, M.Sc., or B.Sc. 
• Research experience that aligns with the department’s research focus. 
• Experience from leadership roles in research based organisations and coordination of research projects. 
• Experience from marketing and selling research projects.
