A SharePoint Architect to play a key part in leveraging SharePoint platform.


There is currently a strong drive towards digitalization in DNV GL, and we foresee significant development of digital services and solutions in the coming years. DNV GL has strong connections to Microsoft, and SharePoint is one of the cornerstones in our global enterprise architecture. We are currently looking for a solid, knowledgeable and foresighted architect to take responsibility for our SharePoint platform.


SharePoint 2013 is utilized for our global intranet landscape including collaboration capabilities, enterprise search, knowledge portals and a number of specialized applications supporting internal and external collaboration.


In this role you will have a marked impact on how we leverage the current and future capabilities of SharePoint and other relevant Microsoft technologies. You will be responsible for the SharePoint platform architecture and capacity. You will act as a trusted advisor for development teams on how to utilize current and future SharePoint capabilities when further developing and implementing new applications based on SharePoint technology.


Your key tasks and deliveries include, but are not limited to:

    •Take ownership of our roadmap for SharePoint based on business needs, non-functional requirements, vendor roadmaps and major technology trends (e.g. cloud, mobile, IoT)

    •Engage in projects and initiatives to ensure that new solutions are implemented in line with our enterprise architecture and utilize SharePoint capabilities according to our framework

    •Initialize and execute activities to enhance and further develop our SharePoint platform, also keeping an eye on major technology trends and Microsoft roadmaps

    •Define and tune our SharePoint capacity planning and ensure scalability

    •Establish and follow up a monitoring framework to ensure that planning and decisions are based on facts and insights

    •Manage availability, IT Service continuity, information security, data and information

    •Liaise with the Support and Operations team and SharePoint experts on a need basis to provide third-line support for key SharePoint-based products


You will report to the group leader for Digital Channels - Architecture and Development, and be part of our global Digital Channels team. You will have full responsibility for our SharePoint platform, processes and deliveries. Your task will be both to ensure stable and smooth operations of the SharePoint landscape, and to enable innovative solutions leveraging on the SharePoint capabilities. Position Qualifications

    •Relevant academic university degree, preferably at Master's level

    •Extensive knowledge of SharePoint 2013 capabilities and roadmaps gained through minimum 8 years experience

    •Proven experience of architecting, planning, developing, testing and deploying SharePoint solutions

    •Demonstrable experience of managing a middle-sized SharePoint farm, especially the long-term platform planning

    •Experience from Agile software development

    •Good understanding of how innovation influences the total cost of ownership 

    •Good understanding of DevOps concepts

    •Good understanding of architecting on various platforms (e.g. Mobile, Cloud and Office 365)

    •Updated on relevant technology trends and curious about new technologies

    •Excellent analytical skills

    •Demonstrable excellent communication skills, both soft, oral and written

    •Professional fluency in English is required
